The Best of Colorado Venues

There are unique and beautiful venues scattered all over the state of Colorado—so how do you ever decide on one? We’ve broken down our venue suggestions into a list of six different Colorado venue “types” and several of our favorite examples of each type. Hopefully this helps you narrow things down!

Type #1: Rustic Venues with a Mountain View

A classic Colorado wedding venue is a gorgeous, rustic setting with beautiful mountains as a backdrop. There are quite a few of these all over the state—here's a list of some of our favorites!

Spruce Mountain Ranch

Spruce Mountain Ranch is a popular venue choice in Colorado for a few different reasons. First of all, the views are absolutely stunning. You get a full 360 degree mountain and foothill views for your mountainside ceremony. SMR is also close in proximity to Denver, so it’s easy to find and it’s close to the airport for your out-of-state guests. This venue embodies the Colorado, rustic feel and has several different reception spaces so it works for any guest count!

Della Terra Mountain Chateau

Della Terra is a luxury mountain venue resting just above the town of Estes Park, Colorado. The inn and beloved wedding venue is on the side of a mountain in a secluded part of Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s likely you’ll see deer, elk, turkeys, etc around the fourteen-acre property. This venue is romantic, timeless and stunning during every season of the year. Not to mention their suites are breathtaking if you decide to stay in the chateau overnight!

Devil’s Thumb Ranch

Devil’s Thumb Ranch is a gorgeous mountain wedding venue in the sprawling valley of Winter Park, Colorado. This venue features two different ceremony and reception sites—both with incredible views of the Rocky Mountains. Get married in a beautiful, grassy field surrounded by grazing horses and white peaks. Enjoy dinner in a rustic barn with an overall cozy and intimate feel. You can’t go wrong with Devil’s Thumb—this is one of the most popular venues in Colorado for a reason!

Type #2: Modern City Wedding

Although Colorado is known for its beautiful mountains and scenery, there are also other options! A modern, urban wedding in downtown Denver might be more up your alley. A chic wedding with the Denver skyline as your backdrop can be an equally stunning event—here’s some of our favorite spots in Denver that feature striking city views!

Denver Botanic Gardens

The Botanic Gardens are a beautiful oasis in downtown Denver. Weddings at the Botanic Gardens are surrounded by countless blooms and florals as well as stunning city views in the background. The grounds are surrounded by high rises, serving as a reminder that this sanctuary is in the middle of a city. It is the perfect balance of modern and romantic!

Denver Athletic Club

The Denver Athletic Club is a popular, modern venue in the middle of downtown Denver. This luxury venue has indoor and outdoor options as well! You can have your reception in the gorgeous Grand Ballroom and your ceremony on the rooftop Sundeck with the Denver skyline in the background.

The Crawford Hotel

Another iconic, modern Denver venue is The Crawford Hotel at Union Station. The Crawford is conveniently located historic venue that has also recently been updated!

Mile High Station

Easily one of the largest wedding venues in Denver, Mile High Station can accommodate events with anywhere from 100-1,200 guests! It has tons of character and an overall industrial, modern vibe that you will fall in love with.

Type #3: Blank Canvases

A blank canvas venue has all the potential in the world to be whatever your wedding vision is! They usually consist of large, open indoor spaces with lots of light that you can design and decorate however you like and there are quite a few great options in Colorado!

Clay

Clay is a new venue in the heart of Colorado Springs that has an urban, industrial vibe. It’s a completely blank space that can be molded into any wedding design you envision. It’s also close in proximity to the downtown Colorado Springs area with first-rate hotels and restaurants for your guests to enjoy.

Moss Denver

Like Clay, Moss is a completely customizable blank space that you can design however you want. Moss is located near the Santa Fe Art District in Denver and is known for its one-of-a-kind moss wall that serves as a totally unique background for photos. It features large windows, polished cement floors and an overall industrial feel and is one of our favorite venues in the city!

Blanc

Blanc is a gorgeous, bright and airy space that’s located in the RINO district in Denver! It’s completely versatile and can be transformed into any atmosphere you want. It’s full of natural light against exposed brick walls and even has an outdoor area for your ceremony or cocktail hour.

Type #4: Historic Venues, Mansions and Castles

Highlands Ranch Mansion

Only 40 minutes outside of the city, Highlands Ranch Mansion is a stunning venue full of rich history. The mansion resembles a castle—a memorable backdrop for summer weddings in the front gardens. The mansion is full of character and charm and your guests will love exploring the venue and roaming around the grounds.

Cherokee Ranch & Castle

Cherokee Ranch & Castle is a wedding venue located in Sedalia, CO—about a 45 min drive from Denver. The castle is a romantic, enchanting backdrop for your wedding ceremony. Feel free to roam the grounds and learn more about the history of the castle and enjoy 360 degree jaw-dropping views of mountains and valleys.

Grant Humphreys Mansion

Grant Humphreys Mansion is an elegant venue full of rich history in the center of the Capitol Hill neighborhood in downtown Denver. Some unique elements of the mansion are the grand staircase, detailed fireplace and striking architectural features. This venue can hold up to 200 guests, while also being an ideal spot for micro-weddings or elopements.

The Manor House

The Manor House is a charming, historical estate in Littleton, Colorado with striking views of the mountains and foothills. Your guests can utilize the entire property, from the wrap around porch to the beautiful gardens to the historical mansion itself. This vintage Colorado venue has a unique view of the city from the outdoor ceremony site, so it has the best of both worlds!

Type #5: Mountaintop Ceremony

A mountaintop ceremony is a classic Colorado venue type and one of the reasons people travel all across the country for a Colorado wedding. Get married on top of the world, completely surrounded by the Rocky Mountains! Here are a couple of the most popular mountaintop locations in Colorado.

Camp Hale

Camp Hale is a stunning oasis in the middle of the mountains, about 30 minutes outside of Vail. The ceremony site features a breathtaking island in the center of the river that runs through the valley, which can only be reached by a quaint, wooden bridge. Camp Hale also gives couples the option to take an AV to the top of the mountain for some exceptional bride and groom portraits.

Type #6: Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries

These are great options for both a laid back, easy going wedding or a full blown elegant affair! You can’t go wrong with any of the options below.

Balistreri Vineyards

Balistreri Vineyards is a romantic, family-owned winery just outside of Denver that can accommodate up to 250 guests. You can host your ceremony in the charming garden area and your reception in the ballroom (which includes a grand staircase!)

Great Divide Brewing Co

Colorado is home to some of the best breweries out there, one of them being Great Divide Brewing Co. This is a perfect location for a wedding with a more casual vibe–trust me, your guests will love it and will be in for a true Colorado experience!

Archetype Distillery

This exceptional distillery space is yet another stand-out venue just minutes from downtown Denver. The event space includes a European inspired artisanal distillery with copper stills, tasting room and two bars–one on each floor.
