Check out our suggestions on some of the best spots on the Amalfi Coast and add them to your honeymoon itinerary!
Praiano
Praiano was easily one of my favorite spots on the Amalfi Coast, which came as a surprise because it’s not as popular or well known as Positano or Amalfi. The lack of tourists is part of why this town is so special. It’s smaller with less activities at night, but Positano is a 20 min taxi ride away if you want a little taste of the night life. The town is beautiful and charming, with easy access to the ocean!
Places to Check Out
Church of St Gennaro
The church is located in the center of town and has gorgeous tile floors with stunning floral designs that are a must-see!
One Fire Beach
An amazing experience, but make sure to rent a chair in advance!
Marina de Praia Beach
This beach cove may be small, but it is absolutely gorgeous and a popular spot among the locals!
Hotel Recommendation - Hotel Le Fioriere
The views from their rooftop restaurant are absolutely stunning - make sure to schedule your dinner around sunset! Something to note as well - there is a short, but very intense hike to and from the beach. But there is a small restaurant about halfway down, so if you need a break from the hike you have a place to do it!
Ravello
Ravello was the furthest destination we visited up the coast, but it was completely worth the journey. Situated higher up on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, the view of Amalfi bay are other-wordly. Every night we enjoyed a cotton candy sunset from our own private garden at the cutest boutique B&B in Ravello - The Secret Garden. True to its name, the property features gardens full of wildflowers and lemon groves with each of its 6 suites featuring its own garden and in most cases, a hot tub or plunge pool overlooking the ocean.
Places to Check Out
Villa Rufolo
A historic mansion located on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast!
Villa Cimbrone
Be sure to check out the Terrace of Infinity that looks out across the Bay of Salerno.
Amalfi
Unfortunately, we weren't able to spend any time in the town of Amalfi while we were traveling around the coast (we only drove through it on our way to Ravello), but it’s an important spot to mention if you’re interested in exploring the area! The town is made up of cute, colorful houses and a large bell tower that you can see from the water. This gorgeous location is sandwiched right in between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the mountains, so the views are stunning. Also, be sure to wander around the port and visit the downtown area!
Places to Check Out
Duomo di Sant’Andrea
A gorgeous cathedral in the center of Amalfi with a golden mosaic on top.
Sorrento
Sorrento is the closest town to the sea and to Napoli and is a bit larger than all of the others so there is plenty of nightlife! It’s also a great spot to stay if you want to do activities like hiking Mount Vesuvius or visit the ruins of Pompeii. Sorrento is also a good idea if you want to spend a day on a boat traveling around the island of Capri and the bay of Napoli - there’s plenty of options!
Positano
Positano has some of the prettiest views and most photographic spots on the Amalfi Coast–you’ve probably seen photos of it all over social media. Anywhere you walk in Positano will be up or down steep stairs, so be prepared for a workout if you’re walking to dinner! However, it is a small town so it is possible to get around on foot (in fact, it’s recommended!) Positano also has some of the best restaurants, shopping and sightseeing on the coast. It is not to be missed!

Capri
Make sure to take a full day to schedule a boat trip and explore the island of Capri by land and sea. A boat tour will take you to incredible locations such as the Blue, Green and White Grottos. Go a step further and explore the Blue Grotto in a rowboat small enough to fit through the entrance or simply by swimming inside if you come later in the evening when it isn’t quite as crowded. There’s also a couple spots for cliff diving for the more adventurous couple! Take the rest of the day to explore the island and take the chair lift to the top of the island, enjoying views of the Gulf of Naples as you ride to the top!

Path of The Gods
The Path of the Gods is one of the best ways to experience the Amalfi Coast! Hike from Bomerano to Nocelle or Positano with gorgeous views throughout the entirety of the excursion.
Tips For The Amalfi Coast
Wear comfortable (running) shoes and bring a pair of sandals down to the beach. Prepare for a short but very intense hike on your way back after spending time at the beach.
Be prepared for jellyfish!
Pack water shoes - the beaches are made up of pebbles, not sand.
Bring bug spray!
Make restaurant reservations in advance (especially in the high season!)
It is very humid - bring extra swimsuits and cover ups and remember to hang everything up in the sunshine to dry!
Use ATMS in front of or at banks only to cut down on the conversion fees.
Don’t rent a car - take a taxi, bus or the ferry. There are only so many parking spaces as registered drivers specifically in the Amalfi Coast so you will have an incredibly difficult time finding parking spots.
Forget the heels, opt for sandals. You’ll be climbing so many stairs made of cobblestone that heels are a very risky move.
Opt for a cool linen dress or a shorts and top set. Bring plenty of sunglasses, sunscreen and a fanny pack for convenience.
